The purpose of this site is to encourage and applaud individuality. To find and recognize those who do their own thing and do it well. I will spotlight those who broke the rules, stepped outside tradition, and followed their heart. This site is about living persons in your neighborhood or world that succeeded when told they would not, could not or that the odds were heavily against them. It’s about individuals who listened to the voice within to make a difference in their life and in the lives of others.

I love this idea. I spend so much of my time doing what others think I should, or filling their needs, that I lose sight of what I want/need to do. I find the most joy when I do what I want--and that usually ends up being better for the other people in my life too.
I think you are right that it ends up being better for the other people in your life as well.
